Bonita Jewel (Bonnie) Rhawn, 70, of Sheffield, PA, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday morning, July 1, 2025. Bonnie was born in Kane, PA, on Jan. 29, 1955, the daughter of the late Harold Rockwell and Bertha (Irwin) Rockwell. She attended Kane High School. Bonnie lived in Maryland for many years before returning to the area.
Bonnie was called to help and serve others in the healthcare profession as a CNA. She gave her patients wonderful care and was a true blessing to them.
Bonnie would relax by gardening, she enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening. Bonnie loved the color pink and enjoyed countless hours of crocheting, she thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas, where she would host the families get togethers. She loved to cook and enjoyed making those special dishes.
Left behind the cherish Bonnie’s memory are her son, Ronald J. Brown of Smethport, PA, her daughter, Stephanie Hyde and her husband Douglas, of New Born, Georgia, two sisters, Rhonda Lyon and Sharon Campbell, both of Sheffield, PA, four brothers, Guy Rockwell, Oily City, PA, Robert Rockwell and his wife Janice, Kane, PA, Randy Rockwell and his wife Becky, Warren, PA, and Kenneth Rockwell, Sheffield, PA, her grandchildren, Jason, Kasey, Brittany, Chelsey, Amber, Devin, and Katarina, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was predeceased by her husband Douglas Rhawn, a daughter, Barbara Brown, four brothers, Dale, Terry, Rick and Pat, and by a sister, Judy.
A private family visitation was held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Borden Funeral Home in Sheffield, PA with Pastor Ruth Ann Varrato, presiding. Burial will be private.
Because of Bonnie’s love of animals, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to Paws Along the River, 212 Elm Street, Warren, PA 16365.
