Barbara Bliss Carlson

Barbara was born on June 6, 1932, in Brockway, PA, the daughter of the late Claude Monroe Bliss and Annetta D. Gage Bliss.

Barbara was a graduate of Warren High School in 1950. She received her beautician license and practiced at Central Avenue Nursing Home. She also worked in the cafeteria at Eisenhower High School.

Barbara was a member of the Friendly Neighbor’s Club where she was the card sender. She never missed anyone’s birthday or special event without sending a card. She enjoyed baking cookies to give away for all sorts of occasions. She enjoyed playing many different special card games. She valued time spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed several trips to her favorite places in Lancaster, PA. She enjoyed attending meetings and visiting her close friends over the years.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 74 years Clarence “Jack” Carlson; children, Curt (Karen) Carlson, Debbie Wilcox, Cindy (Gary) Stoddard, Denise Carlson. Grandchildren Casey (Casey) Carlson, Kari (Ryan) Schuberth, Melissa (Kyle) Rosfeld, Matthew Wilcox, Julie (Bart) Nickerson, Ben (Christy) Stoddard, Brandon (Elyssa) Stoddard, Breanna (Ben) Crane; 18 great-grandchildren. Also, survived by nieces, nephews and lifelong neighbor and friend Ann Swanson.

Barb is predeceased by a son Craig Eugene Carlson; eleven brothers and sisters; granddaughter Heather Wilcox, and great-grandson Micah Crane.

Friends will be received beginning at 11:00 on Saturday Aug. 2, 2025, in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg followed by a service at 12:00 in the funeral home. The burial will take place in the Fentonville Cemetery, Frewsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Akeley Christian Fellowship Church, (541 Akeley Road Russell, PA).
