Philip Terry Barker, 79, of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. He was born July 27, 1945 in Ridgway, PA. He was the son of Lucille Rhines. Philip grew up in Emporium, PA and graduated from Cameron County High School in 1964. He attended Williamsport Community College to become a machinist. Philip moved to Warren, PA. He was employed by Osram Sylvania as a toolmaker, retiring from there after 38 years of employment. Following retirement, Philip moved to Fort Myers, FL, and then moved to Aiken, SC in 2024.
Philip enjoyed hunting-especially with his son and grandson, and fishing on his boat in Florida and on the Allegheny River with his son. He was a member of the Pine Grove Sportsman’s Club. He spent much of his free time refinishing and selling antiques. Philip was known for his great sense of humor and outgoing personality.
He is survived by his children – Ryan Barker and wife, Marci, of Warren, PA, and Kristine Nyberg and companion Ted Benz, of Aiken, SC. Grandchildren-Ashley Barker-Ford and husband, Ryan, of Sugar Grove, IL, and Adam Barker, of Warren. Son-in-Law, David Nyberg of Warren, and Brother-in-Law, David Caruso, and Wife Mary, of Wichita, KS. He is also survived by his cousins-Gary A. Clinger and wife Barbara, of Emporium, PA, and Dennis J. Clinger, of Emporium.
Philip was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Rhines and Aunt Lois Clinger.
A private service will be held at Newton Cemetery in Emporium, PA at the convenience of the family.
