Michael W. Anderson

Michael W. Anderson

Michael Ward Anderson, 65, of Curtis Rd. in Ludlow, passed away on Monday, June 23, at Warren General Hospital.

Born Oct. 28, 1959, in Kane, he was the son of the late Ward and Virginia (Vee) Federko Anderson.

Mike was a 1977 graduate of Kane High School. He worked at Long Manufacturing in Sheffield and Loranger Manufacturing in Warren, before taking a position as a supervisor with Graham Packaging in Bradford- a role that took him across the country and one he especially enjoyed.

A longtime Chicago Cubs and Buffalo Bills fan and sports enthusiast, Mike was also a pitcher in the Betts modified and slow pitch Men’s Softball Leagues during his younger years, where he made lasting friendships and fond memories.

He enjoyed golfing, loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter who especially treasured time spent at the family camp, which was built by his father before Mike was born, and Mike has cared for since his father’s passing.

He was a member of the NRA, the Wildcat Park Foundation, and the Gibbs Hill Cemetery Board, where he gave many hours in service to his community.

To those who knew him, Mike was a true gentleman – hardworking, loyal, and devoted to his family. He was a storyteller at heart, always quick with a joke or memory, and brought laughter and warmth to every family gathering.

He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Richie) Lawson of Texas; two sons, Patrick (Jess) Anderson of Mars and Kenneth Anderson of Warren; three sisters, Rebecca Anderson of Oregon City, OR, Debbie Bish of Kane, and Bonnie (Gail) Wilson of Lewis Run.

He is also survived by his former wife, Beth Jacobs, with whom he shared many years and raised their children, and by his longtime companion, Johanna Greenland of Warren, along with her children Jeremy, Nerissa, and Katherine. Mike had a close relationship with his father-in-law, Dale Clark, who survives.

Mike also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren – Paisley, Slaton, Connor, Caden, and Cameron – along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a twin brother, Timothy, who passed at birth, and a brother-in-law, Richard Bish.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Cummings Funeral Home, 151 Greeves St, in Kane. Burial will be held at a later date at Gibbs Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wildcat Park Foundation or the Gibbs Hill Cemetery.
