Mark A. Wilson Sr.

Mark Adam Wilson Sr. 73, of N. Warren, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, at his residence following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

Mark was born on Dec. 16, 1951, Warren, PA, the son of the late William R. and Evelyn Anderegg Wilson. He was a 1970 graduate of the Warren Area High School and served in the U.S. Army in country during the Vietnam War. Upon his return to Warren, Mark worked in Quality Control at the Blair Corporation for many years from which he retired. He was a longtime member of the North Warren Volunteer Fire Department, having served as Chief for five years.

Mark is survived by his wife, S. Lynn Smathers Wilson, whom he married on June 7, 1975, in the North Warren Presbyterian Church; a daughter Tina Marie Struzik and her husband Daniel of Stafford, VA; a son, Mark A. Wilson Jr. and his wife Cara of Olean, NY; and three grandchildren, Carolyn Struzik, Liam Struzik, and Evelyn Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mark will be long remembered as a loving husband, father, “PopPop” and friend.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by two brothers, William R., and Richard J. Wilson.

Family and friends will gather at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA on Friday, June 20, from 2 to 4 pm. A reception will follow at 5 pm at the North Warren Fire Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in memory of Mark be made to the North Warren Volunteer Fire Dept. 12 S. State St, Warren, PA 16365 or A Safe Place, 210 Noth St. Suite C, Warren, PA 16365

Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA.

Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Scott, Scott Johnson, Bob Goodwill, Dave Larson, Tim Reynolds, Mark E. Wilson, Mike Wilson, and Jon Scott (dec.)
