Genevieve (Jennie) Jones, 97, of Youngsville, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Warren General Hospital. She was born in Monessen, Pennsylvania on July 13, 1927 to the late Stanislaus and Josephine Skryna Rutsky. She was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Youngsville, where she had been a resident since 1957. She graduated from Doyle Beauty School, in Buffalo, NY, in 1953, and owned and operated Jennie’s Beauty Shop for more than 50 years; where she got to know practically everyone in Youngsville and the surrounding community, She also worked for several years for Blair Corporation in Irvine, PA, prior to her retirement. In later life she enjoyed working in the yard, canning fruits and vegetables, and cooking authentic Polish food.

Jennie loved people and would talk to anyone at any time; she also loved animals and adopted several dogs and cats throughout her lifetime. Her favorite musician was Glenn Miller, and she played the accordion, and was an avid Polka dancer for many years. As a mother, she always put her children first, even in the most trying times. She was a glass half full person, and always looked for the best in everyone. She had strong principles, but would always express her ideas in an empathetic and caring way.
