Gusty Arrigo

Gusty J. Arrigo, 100, a resident of the Rouse Suites, Youngsville, PA., formerly of Warren, PA., died at his residence, on Monday May 19, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born May 16, 1925, in Clarendon, PA. He was the son of Fillipo and Christina Cristante Arrigo. Gusty was a lifelong Warren area resident and was a graduate of Warren High School Class of 1944.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a Coxswain, serving from Sept. 28, 1943, until he was honorably discharged on April 15, 1946. Gusty learned to barber in Erie, PA, and was self-employed for 36 years, retiring in 1988. Gusty was an active member at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, where he was a former member of the church Holy Name Society, worked with the Catholic Service Appeal, usher, former church council member, worked in the kitchen cleaning dishes for any church meals. He received a papal award from Pope Benedict XVI.

Gusty was a member of the Warren Knights of Columbus and their bowling league. He was a member of Warren Bocce Group. Gusty enjoyed golfing with his friends and going to Friday night dinners with them as well.

He volunteered with Hospice of Warren County providing haircuts to terminally ill patients. Gusty was a volunteer at Warren General Hospital.

He is survived by his two sons, John Arrigo and his wife, Carol Delahunty of Monroeville, PA., Thomas Arrigo and his wife, Trudi of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren, Karen Arrigo-Hill, Elizabeth Halter, Mike Arrigo; eight great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Josephine Simonsen and her husband, Dr. Ronald Simonsen of Warren, PA., Rose Calio of Woodstock, GA., and several nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary Tigani Arrigo, who died April 9, 1991, whom he married June 17, 1950, at St. Callistus R.C. Church, Kane, PA.; two Sisters, Frances Rhoades and Cosima Arrigo.

Family and friends will be received at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell St., Warren, PA., on Saturday May 24, 2025 from 10 to 11 A.M. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 A.M. with Fr. Mark O’Hern, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren, PA.
