Evelyn E. Harris

Evelyn Elaine Harris, 86, formerly of Russell, PA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville, PA.

Evelyn was born July 15, 1938, in Johnstown, PA, the daughter of the late Andrew and Christine (Klanduch) Saydak. She was a 1956 graduate of Johnstown High School. In 1960, Evelyn married the love of her life, Ramon P. Harris. They enjoyed their life together while living in several western Pennsylvania communities including Johnstown and Butler, settling in Russell in 1981. She was a founding member of the Pine Grove Beautification Committee where she shared her creativity and love for flowers with the community. Evelyn was a dedicated member of the Akeley United Methodist Church. Her passions included cooking, baking, and gardening but her most beloved profession was being Mom.

Evelyn is survived by her three children, Ramon P. Harris, Jr. (Donna) of Lancaster, NY, Dr. Stephanie M. Galey (Dave) of Saegertown, PA, and Matthew S. Harris (Lara) of Liberty Hill, TX; two grandchildren, Julia Harris and Michael Harris (Sofia); and numerous nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death on July 17, 2015, by her husband of 55 years, Ramon P. Harris Sr.; infant daughter, Paula Elaine Harris; sisters, Mary Kabler, Irene Shaffer, Eleanor Theys, Ethel Freidman, and Becky Ickes; and infant brother Adam Saydak.

Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm, concluding with a brief Prayer Service with Rev. Rick Rholin, pastor, Akeley Christian Fellowship Church, officiating. Friends are invited to join the family to share memories and a meal immediately following the service. A private internment will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, PA.
