Cynthia L. Egger

Cynthia L. Egger
Cynthia (Cindy) Louise Egger, 71, of Warren, PA passed away Friday, April 4, after a brief illness. She was born April 28, 1953, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Lillian and Lyle Hilde. Cindy and James (Jim) Egger were married 52 years this year, have four children and seven grandchildren. She graduated from General McLane High School in 1971, took courses in Biology at Penn State Behrend and was a resident of Warren for 45 years.
The daughter of an engineer, Cindy was able to travel the United States growing up, a fact she relished, noting she enjoyed being the “new kid on the block,” meeting novel people and creating memories with her three sisters. Cindy was a Human Resources professional at Blair for over 35 years and retired in 2015. She cherished the work she did and the people she worked with. An avid gardener and naturist, Cindy could tell you what plants were what, how to best care for them and would point out all the wonders of the Allegheny National Forest. She was a hunter, our “Annie Oakley”, and greatly enjoyed her time at family camp. Whether it be just her and Jim, enjoying the silence, maybe sneaking in a nap, or inviting family and friends to celebrate. She played scrabble with her sisters daily and kept her mind sharp with Sudoku.
Cindy took full advantage of her time with family, especially her grandbabies. Family vacations to the Outer Banks, baking brownies, completing a craft and teaching the art of making Lefsa and Norwegian pancakes. Cindy made any get-together memorable with temporary tattoos, trivia and spirited conversation. She was always game for playing cards and would harness her Norwegian heritage, showing no mercy! She enjoyed making homemade wine, keeping us all in high spirits! Cindy was a fantastic listener and conversationalist. She’d be shaking her head, commiserating with the latest, all the while, tactfully and with spy-like reflexes, refill your wine glass. Cindy made you feel seen and heard, offering sage advice at the right moments and warm hugs when silence was enough. She was humble, soulful and above all, will be deeply missed. Not for what she did but for who she is.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Lyle Hilde, her mother and father-in-law, Violet and Glenn Egger, beloved brother-in-law, Tom Lippert, and her two precious grandchildren, Tyler James Egger and Ryan Michael Egger. She is survived by her fantastic husband, James (Jim) Egger; three vibrant sisters, Laurel Lippert, Janet (Marcel) Hilde, and Diane Hilde; four fabulous children, Daniel (Tricia) Egger, Joshua (Jen) Egger, Aaron (Stefanie) Egger and Jesse (Nicki) Egger; five grandchildren, Hunter (Kourtnee) Egger, Olivia Egger, Andy Egger, Emily Egger, and Isabella Egger, and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at the family’s convenience.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.donate.cancer.org an organization dear to Cindy and Jim’s heart.
