Cole E. Goerlich, 35, of Erie, PA (formerly Warren) was welcomed into the Lord’s arms on Jan. 6, 2025 at his home, after a brief illness.
Cole was born Aug. 23, 1989 in Warren, PA. He is the son of the late Jamie Goerlich and Nancy Mack Goerlich.
Cole graduated from Bald Eagle High School in 2008 and was an outstanding athlete throughout his school years, playing baseball, basketball, and golf. He never lost his love for sports. Cole enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2009. He served two tours of duty in Afghanistan, and one with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the USS Boxer to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa. He was honorably discharged in 2014, having attained the rank of Sergeant.
Cole loved sports of all kinds and especially golf. He liked fishing and vegetable gardening with his mother. He loved his family, his dogs, and the Lord, having had a recent spiritual re-awakening.
Remaining to cherish Cole’s memory are his mother Nancy Goerlich, his Fiance Sari Smith, her daughter Raenin Mong, his children Haisley and Holden Goerlich, grandmother Nancy Goerlich (Larrey Albaugh), many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding in death are his father Jamie Goerlich, sister Abby Goerlich Perry, grandmother Lorna Mack, and grandfather Edward “Poppy” Goerlich.
A memorial service will be held on April 19, 2025 at 12 PM, at the Russell United Methodist Church at 17 N. Main St., Russell, PA with Reverend Gary Donaldson officiating.
