Norma G. Petersen of Warren, PA was called to heaven on March 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Norma spent the final 5 years of her life residing in York, PA near her family. Last summer, she celebrated her 96th birthday with a big family reunion bash!

Norma was born in Kane, PA on August 12, 1928, the daughter of the late Helga and Niels Gregersen. Helga and Neils were both born in Denmark, both came through Ellis Island, and then met in Pennsylvania and married.

Norma graduated from Kane High School with high honors. She was a secretary for National Fuel Gas Co. in Warren, PA for several years before becoming a housewife and mother in Pleasant Township. She was a charter member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Warren, PA. Norma was a loving and devoted mother to her 4 children whom she raised on the family farm. The family lived off the farm where she churned homemade butter and canned the produce from the farm. She had many family recipes that she passed down to her family including the coveted holiday chex mix and date nut pinwheels.

Norma was “the Queen” of the family who loved long phone conversations with her loved ones, and winter road trips to Florida with Daughter in Law, Karen. Norma loved playing and watching golf, watching Roger Federer play tennis, and listening to Andrea Bocelli. Norma loved her family deeply and was a proud grandmother to her 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her 2 loving daughters, Lynn (Guy) McCuen of Florida and Julie (Joe) Stauffer of York, PA, as well as her daughter in law, Karen Petersen of Warren, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Mindy, Mike, Cy, Jobie, Kasey, Ryan, Jason and Jessi and her great-grandchildren: Carson, Maxwell, Beckett, Kylie, Kaden, Drew, Ty, Freyja, Tony, Laney, Ben and Riley.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother: Violet Gregersen, Evelyn Dahler, June Stangler, and Robert Gregersen. She lost her 2 beloved sons: Alan Petersen in 2017 and Jon Petersen in 2020. She is also proceeded in death by her best friend and companion, Jim Pierce and their dog, Edward.

Services will be held at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc, 1003 Penna Ave. E. Warren, PA, on Friday, March 21, 2025. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, at which time a Memorial service will be held there at 1:00pm, with The Reverend Jeffrey Ewing, pastor, First Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial to follow at the Warren County Memorial Park.
