Linda R. Samargya, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025 at her home at the Rose Senior Living Center in Avon, Ohio, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Michael J. Samargya. Loving mother of Brad (wife Debbie) and Beth Samargya; grandmother of Katie Osis (husband Karl) Abby Riggs (husband Austin) and Nick Samargya; great-grandmother of Cooper Riggs and Ava Osis. Beloved sister of Ann Oberfield (Jack, dec.). Aunt and great-aunt to many. Linda was born and grew up in Newark, Ohio, majored in art at Ohio University where she met Mike and eventually settled with her family in Warren, Pa. where she lived for over 50 years. Throughout her life, Linda led a very active life of cross country skiing, swimming and aerobics at the YMCA. She was a very talented watercolor artist and member of the Warren Art League. She adored the company of friends and family along with a nice glass of Chardonnay. She enjoyed her church and was an active member of the Holy Redeemer Church choir. She was a friend to all and she loved to have fun and laugh. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial contributions may be forwarded to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or to Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 11 Russell St., Warren, PA 16365. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at St. Francis Catholic Church, 40 Grandville St., Newark, OH 43055. Her ashes will join her husband Mike’s in Warren, Pa.
