Beatrice E. Turner, 102, of Franklin, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 at the Collins House in Franklin.

A daughter of Phillip and Goldie Mealy Yarnell, she was born Dec. 16, 1922 in Oil City, PA.

On April 12, 1941 Beatrice married Glenn Turner who preceded her in death in 2003.

Employed as an assistant, she worked for Dr. Timney’s Ear, Nose and Throat practice prior to retiring in 1980. Beatrice and her husband had also owned and operated Turner’s Apple Orchard.

Well known for her handmade fur bears, she had made over 100 bears through the years. She also enjoyed baking and was known for her cookies. Beatrice was very outgoing and made friends easily.

Mrs. Turner was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Corbett and husband Merlyn “Bus” of Knox, PA; Nancy Swanson, and husband Jack of Russell, PA; five grandchildren, Michael Turner, Patrick Turner, John Swanson, Brian Swanson, Michelle Hartzell; 10 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces,nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn Turner; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Mert Turner; two brothers, Leroy Yarnell, and Kenneth Yarnell; two sisters, Betty Boyd and Norma Wood, and a granddaughter, Tobie Corbett.

A celebration of Beatrice’s life will be held at a later date. Interment will be made in Bethel Cemetery. The Gardinier-Warren Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin has been entrusted with arrangements.
