Carman J. Fedele Sr.
Carman J. Fedele Sr., 88, of Tidioute, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Titusville Area Hospital.
He was born in Kane on June 5, 1936, a son to late Joseph and Wava (Strain) Fedele. He married Virginia Ellen (JoAnne) Crumb on December 31, 1960 in Erie, PA. She preceded him in death in September 2005. Carman served in the National Guard being honorably discharged after 8 years. He started what turned out to be a very successful career as a Diesel Technician. Carman was well known for his knowledge in mechanics, welding and fabricating. He worked for W H Fitszgerald Trucking as a truck driver and mechanic for all of 31 years, retiring in 1997.
Carman was a lifetime member of the Tidioute VFD as well as a devoted member of the Lions Club. The Carman J. Fedele Recycling Center through the Lions Club was named after him after all of the dedicated work he put into it to get it started. Along with his significant other, Daisy McDonald, Carman built at least 21 wheelchair ramps in the Tidioute Community for those that couldn’t afford to have one put in. He was a loyal member to the Tidioute Community in so many ways. He was always helping neighbors, members of the community as well as the Community Charter School without asking for anything in return. He will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know such a caring man.
He is survived by his companion, Daisy McDonald of Tidioute, his children, Tammy McLaughlin of Mercer, PA and his son, Carman Fedele Jr and his fiancÈ, Robin Gilbert, of Mechanicsville, VA; his grandchildren, Hannah Fedele of Richmond, VA, Laci Fedele and Damian (Rebecca) Fedele, both of Florida, Ericha (Nick) Lanros of Pittsburgh and Erin (Brecken) Ellis of Mercer; 6 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank his caregiver Donna Richard whose help was and continues to be invaluable.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death his son, Thomas Fedele; his son-in-law, LTC Michael McLaughlin as well as his siblings, Anthony “Jim” Fedele and Francis Fedele.
A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.
