Carriebelle Hoffman

Carriebelle Hoffman
Carriebelle Hoffman of Warren passed away peacefully at home on December 8, 2024, at age 97.
She was born January 9, 1927, to the late Charlie and Belle Conquer in Barnes, PA, and graduated from Sheffield High School class of 1945.
Her brothers Bob, George (Red), Larry and infant John Paul predeceased her.
Carriebelle married John (Jack) Hoffman in 1946 upon his return from army service. They made a life and home together for 47 years until Jack’s passing in 1993 from cancer. They had sons Gary (wife Cindy) of Rochester, NY, Kevin (Sharon) of Harrisburg, and Rodney (Karen) of Warren. Gary predeceased her in 2022. Carriebelle is survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, six nieces and four nephews.
During high school, Carriebelle worked at a ball bearing factory in Buffalo, NY to help with the war effort. After high school, she trained to become a certified beautician. During her sons’ school years, she was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. Afterwards, she and a good friend opened the Biacchi/Hoffman Beauty Shop in North Warren which they ran successfully for many years until Jack’s diagnosis.
Carriebelle’s world revolved around her family and friends, no matter how near or far. She shared in everyone’s joys and sorrows as if they were her own. She made the effort to stay in touch through phone calls, cards, text messages and Instagram. There wasn’t a cousin, in-law or friend so distant that she wouldn’t be glad to hear from them. She was a very good listener and was genuinely interested in others. Carriebelle saw the best in people.
Carriebelle was by nature an optimist. To the very end she approached life with humor and wit. She had a deep abiding Christian faith that sustained her through life’s ups and downs. She was an avid reader who knew the Warren librarians by name. She read the newspaper every day and stayed on top of current events. And, Carriebelle was a Steelers fan.
Throughout her final years Carriebelle had been especially grateful for the attentive and enduring care she received from granddaughters Sydnie and Baylie and grand-dog Groove that allowed her to stay in her own home.
