Sonja “Gail” Wood

Gail was born March 15, 1937, in Barnett Township, PA, the daughter of the late Homer F. and B. Jean (Burkett) Cook. She was a member of the class of 1955 at Warren High School. Gail was employed in the mailing department at New Process Company for a short time.

Gail was a faithful member of the First Church of the Nazarene, helped with funeral dinners at the church, and was a member of the Christian Woman’s Club. Gail also enjoyed sewing, quilting and reading. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Gail is survived by her four children, Debra Foster and husband Edward of Russell, Michael Wood of Warren, David Wood and wife Traci of Warren, and Susan Munch and husband Steven of Columbus, GA; three grandchildren, Adam Larson, Ashlee Holt, and Gabrielle Goodard; two great grandchildren, Cailee Goodard and Emerson Holt; sister, Cheryl Resse of Front Royal, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death on May 25, 2016, by her husband, Robert A. Wood, whom she married on July 16, 1956; sisters, Coral Anne Wood and Patricia Anderson; brothers, John, Joseph, and Jeffrey Cook.

Friends will be received at First Church of the Nazarene, 907 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10:00am to 11:00am, at which time a funeral service will be held with Reverend J. Maier, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be at Warren County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene.
