Gary E. Gordon Sr.

Gary E. Gordon Sr., 90, of Frewsburg, passed away at a good ole age on Saturday, October 12, 2024 in Warren Manor, Warren, PA.

He was born on July 31, 1934, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Clifford S. and Hazel M. Fitzgerald Gordon.

Gary grew up on a chicken and egg farm where his dad whole saled his products. In 1952 at the age 17, he joined the US Navy serving during the Korean War. He was discharged from active duty in 1955 and served in the reserves until 1960. Upon returning to Warren, he completed his high school education graduating with the class of 1956 and then enrolled at the University of Kentucky graduating in June 1960 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in accounting and marketing with a minor in economics.

After graduation he returned to Warren to help on the farm due to his father’s declining health and also began his accounting career in Jamestown working at many area manufacturers. His last employment was at Loranger Manufacturing Company where he was a chief accountant, retiring there as manager of accounts payable.

Gary was always active in the community. He was squad captain for the Frewsburg Fire Department, past president of Carborundum Management Club, past president of Jamestown-Warren National Association of Accountants, past member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 313 in Warren, active member of the American Legion, life member of Joseph Warren Masonic Lodge 726 Masons where he earned his 3rd degree, Jamestown Consistory where he earned his 32nd Degree, and Ismailia Shriners. He was a member of the Masons and Shriners for over 50 years.

Gary is survived by his children; Tracy L. (Kenneth Williams) Gordon of Warren, Lana M. Fisher of Stafford, NY, Christopher F. Gordon of Jamestown, NY; grandchildren: Fawn Pfohl, Robyn Wilson, Benjamin Carter, Braxton Warner, Daniel Gordon, Briannon Fisher, Alex Gordon, Elizabeth Gordon; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Gary E. Gordon, Jr. in 1998; a grandson Robert Sprayberry in 1986; and a brother Donald Gordon in 1992.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024 in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
