Valentino L. Papalia

Vallie was born April 5, 1928, in Warren, the son of the late Rocco and Sarah Spadifore Papalia. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1946-1948. He was employed at Bill’s Welding’s; was self-employed in the welding service and then at Warren State Hospital from which he retired in 1993.

Vallie volunteered making over 1,100 wreath holders and giving the proceeds to Hospice and the Cancer Center. He also made and donated over 450 wooden cremation box urns to Paws Along the River.

Vallie is survived by two children, Gary Papalia and wife Margaret of Sheffield, and Terry Papalia and wife Jodi of Warren; stepson, Ronald Ecklund and wife Ruth of Sebring, FL; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Vallie was preceded in death in 1998 by his wife Audrey Lobdell Papalia; a stepson, Charles Ecklund; and two brothers, Ralph and Ross Papalia.

Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 11:00am to 1:00 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held there with Reverend Bill Beatty, pastor, Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
