Richard D. Sherwood

Richard was born February 4, 1936, in Warren, the son of the late Oscar Sherwood and Ethel Anderson Sherwood.

He was a 1954 graduate of Warren High School. He earned an Associate Degree in Accounting at Bryant and Stratton in Buffalo, NY. He served for four years in the Marine Reserves. Richard was employed for 25 years at GTE Sylvania from which he retired.

Richard was a member of the Joseph Warren Lodge Masonic Temple. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Warren County Shrine Club, and a member of the Coudersport Consistory. He enjoyed wintering in Florida for 28 years, round and square dancing, golfing, tennis, and billiards. Richard especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Richard is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Chesnutt Sherwood, whom he married on July 27, 1957; two children, Debbie Rohlin of Russell, PA, and Brad Sherwood and wife Lynda of Lancaster, PA; six grandchildren, Kristina Fritts and husband Matt of Annapolis, MD, Joshua Rohlin of Panama City Beach, FL, Aaron Rohlin and wife Nicole of Lakewood, NY, Nathan Rohlin and wife Jenny of Mayville, NY, Andrew Sherwood of Roselle, NJ, and Brian Sherwood of Hatfield, PA; six great grandchildren; sister Bonnie Gilford of Brookville, PA.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by infant twin grandsons, Brandon and Logan Sherwood; brother-in-law, Larry Gilford; and son-in-law, Toby Rohlin.

A private graveside service for Richard will be held at a later date.
