Susan Anne Johnson

Sue was born June 4, 1949, in Warren, the daughter of the late Jack and Joanne Wendleboe Hickey. She graduated from Greenbriar High School in West Virginia. Although she was a stay-at-home mother, she taught pre-school at the YMCA.

Sue was a member of the Moose Club, Eagles, and American Legion Auxillary. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She volunteered for many things, was an avid runner, enjoyed gardening, and liked playing cards. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and her canine companion “Chelsea” and had a special relationship with her grandmother and grandfather, Mildred and Nicolai Kanut Wendelboe Sr. She will be missed by many who knew and loved her.

Sue is survived by her husband, David L. Johnson, whom she married on Dec. 13, 2014; two children, Scott Shafer and wife Ayreal of Warren, and Jennifer Cameron and husband Mike of Warren; step-daughters, Heather Morrison and husband Dave, and Hollie Marshall and husband Dan; stepson, Shawn Johnson; grandchildren, Erick Shafer of Erie, Emilee Shafer of Warren, and Jordan and Colby Cameron of Warren; step-grandchildren, Alexus Johnson, Peyton Morrison, and Zoe Marshall; two brothers, Jack Hickey and wife Sharon of Lakewood, and Tom Hickey and wife Terese of Utah; sister, Pam McDaniel and husband Larry of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her first husband in March 2009, Dave Shafer.

Friends will be received at First Presbyterian Church, 300 Market St., Warren, PA, on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 9:30 am to 11 am, at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Lee Beckes, pastor, officiating.

Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
