Douglas W. Burke

Doug was born March 25, 1938, in Warren, the son of the late William and Mary “Beryl” Perkins Burke. He was a 1956 graduate of Warren High School and attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1956-1960.

Doug was employed at Central Lab in Milwaukee, Wis. from 1963-1965, then from 1965-1992 at Osram Sylvania as a Quality Engineer from which he retired, and then worked for 15 years at Enterprise Rental Car. Doug was interested in genealogy, civil war history and was an avid reader. Doug will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Doug is survived by his wife, Susan J. Littlefield Burke, whom he married on Sept. 2, 1972; four children, Joseph W. Burke and wife Dr. Erin Conlin of Pittsburgh, PA, the Honorable Scott R. Morris and wife Dr. Susan Morris of Steilacoom, WA, Kelly A. Morris of Warren, and Erin K. Hoffman and husband Dan Hoffman of Warren; grandchildren, Seth T. Hoffman, Dr. Shane M. Morris (Captain, U.S. Army), Arin E. Custer, and Louise H. Burke; great grandchildren, Alivia L. Hoffman, and Rayne E. Custer.

Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave. East, Warren, PA, on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Bill Beatty, pastor, Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial to follow in Pine Grove Cemetery with full military honors provided by Youngsville Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Doug may be made to the Warren County Historical Society, 210 Fourth Ave., Warren, PA, or to the Warren Public Library, 205 Market St., Warren, PA, or to Hospice of Warren County, 1 Main Ave., Warren, PA.
