David L. Close

He was born in Fairview, PA to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Reed) Close.

David graduated from Fairview High School, was a US Army Veteran and retired from General Electric Co. in Erie, PA. He was a member of the Irvine Presbyterian Church in Irvine, PA.

David married Bernice L. Crippen in June of 1965. He enjoyed gardening and making wooden toys for Santa’s Helpers in Erie, PA.

David is survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he as preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernice Crippen Close; his step-father, Clifford West and his brothers, Calvin, John Thomas and Harold Close.

Visitation will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St., Youngsville, PA 16371, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 1-2PM at which time a memorial service will be held there with the Rev. Josh Baker. The Youngsville American Legion Honor Guard will provide full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sanford Cemetery, 380 Reynolds Rd, Pittsfield, PA 16340.
