Craig Warner Hockinson
Craig Warner Hockinson, 61, of Warren, PA, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Born on June 27, 1962, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, he was the son of Joel Charles and Linda (McCandless) Hockinson. He was married to his beloved wife, Jodi (Miller) Hockinson, who survives him at home.
Craig was a graduate of Eisenhower High School in Russell, PA, where he was well known for his love of gymnastics and would break out a spontaneous backflip on occasion. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in communications from Clarion University. Professionally, his career took him in diverse directions throughout the years. He worked with the YCC on trail building projects in the Kinzua Dam region, youth participation in Methodist Youth Fellowship, and worked as a videographer for more than 35 years. While living in Florida, his television commercial productions won several awards. Additionally, he built and ran the county television station in Flagler County, Florida, and was an official videographer for the Portuguese soccer team in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
In addition to his wife, Jodi, and parents, Joel and Linda, he is survived by his son, Josh Mariacher, stepchildren, Stormy, Jennifer and Patrick, and grandchildren, Gabby and Victor. Also surviving is a sister, Julie Hubler (Greg), nephews, Benjamin, Zachary, Caleb, and Jake, and nieces, Zoe, Victoria, and Padyn.
He was preceded in death by his brother Jeffery in 2009.
In his free time, Craig was a talented guitarist. He had a great love for cooking as well as hiking, fishing, and kayaking. He was loved by his friends and family, known to be a thoughtful, kind, selfless person who always placed others before himself. He will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 250 E. College Avenue, State College, directly following the 10:00 AM worship service, with Rev. Gregory Milinovich officiating. A Memorial Service hosted by Tracy Stanton will be held at a later date in Warren, PA. Details for this service will be announced at a later date. Burial services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
