Neil S. North

He was born on Dec. 23, 1937 in Jamestown, New York, the son of the late Paul J. and Gertrude Swanson North.

Neil was a 1955 graduate of Warren High School. Neil and Ardell Ekstrom North were married in 1968.

For 38 years, Neil was a sales manager for 7-Up Bottling Company and later Supreme Beverages (Pepsi), both in Jamestown. Affable and effortlessly sociable, even in retirement Neil was known throughout the southern tier as “the Pepsi guy.”

Neil was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church for many years and he and his wife Ardell were members of the Penn York Square Dancers.

Neil is survived by his wife Ardell; two sons Paul (Leisa) North of Mendon, NY and Patrick North of Bellefonte, PA; and four grandchildren Luke North, Sydney North, Lillian North, and Avery North.

Through his final days Neil exemplified the tireless work ethic of his early life on the farm and he leaves behind a legacy of devoted service to friends and family. With his considerable mechanical talents, Neil blessed his family with several car restorations and innumerable home and garden projects. Neil was a reliable neighbor, offering help in the form of plowed driveways and cords of firewood. Over the years, Neil extended this same generous spirit of service to help stranded travelers and orphaned or injured animals.

Friends will be received from 5-7 pm on Friday, May 3 at the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, May 4, 2024 in Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg. Rev. Phillip Roushey will officiate.
