Roland L. “Junior” Taylor

Roland L. “Junior” Taylor, 66, of Corry, PA, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Corry Manor.

He was born June 20, 1957 in Corry, PA, a son of the late Roland Taylor Sr. and Sandra (Miles) Taylor Swarm.

Junior was raised and educated in Corry and attended Corry Area Schools. After high school, he worked for Crestline for a short period of time and then Dowell. He also worked for Leroy’s Towing for many years, helping out when needed. Junior then worked for several companies in Corry, including, Tonnard’s, Corry Manufacturing and McInnes Steel as a machinist. While working third shift at McInnes Steel, he also started his own construction company, Taylor Concrete & Construction, for 30 years until he retired in 2018.

He enjoyed four wheeling, snowmobiling and weight lifting in his younger years. He also enjoyed trucks, muscle cars and was quite the Camaro collector, amongst other cars. He had an appreciation for all genres of music, but he specifically loved Rock Music. Junior loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Vena Miles; paternal grandmother, Mable Taylor and a son in infancy.

Junior is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Miller) Taylor, whom he married October 7, 1989 in Corry, PA; daughter, Michele Taylor of Corry, PA and son, Joe Bower of Idaho; three sisters, Judy Taylor Chase and her companion Ron Middleton, Sue Rickerson and her husband Denny and Cindy Taylor and long time family friend, LaDean Daniels all of Corry, PA.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Taylor J. Corbett, James T. Corbett, Kalli Taylor, Riley and Thomas Bower; three great-grandchildren, Keira, Zavier and Emmett and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA 16407 on Monday, April 22nd from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday, April 23rd at 11 am. Pastor Les Utegg will officiate.

Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, PA.
