Betty W. Sarnicki

She was born April 17, 1931 in Corry, PA, a daughter of the late Gerald and Beatrice (Cole) Whaley.

Betty was raised and educated in Spring Creek, PA and graduated from Youngsville High School in 1948. Betty worked in retail for Donaldsons’ store for a few years until she married, she then stayed home to raise and care for her family. Betty later worked as a medical secretary in Corry for Dr. Tsai and later for Dr. Ho. After her retirement in 1991, Betty would deliver flowers for Designs by Christine and From Me To You.

She was a former member of the Corry First Presbyterian Church. She belonged to the Zunta club and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 264. She enjoyed going to garage sales and word search puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded by her first husband, E. Clifford Woodruff and second husband, Stanley Sarnicki, whom she married on June 23, 1969 in Beaverdam, PA.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Janet Woodruff of Corry, PA and cousin, Donna Pondel of Spring Creek, PA.

Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA on Thursday, March 28th from 10 am until the time of the service there at 12 noon. Pastor Les Utegg will officiate.
