Susan E. Whitney
Susan E. Whitney, 80, formerly of Sugar Grove, PA passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2024 in Fort Pierce, FL where she had resided for five years.
She was the widow of Ronald A. Whitney whom she married Oct. 6, 1962 and who died March 7, 2018.
Susan was born in Jamestown on May 27, 1943, a daughter of the late Howard and Martha Boys Williams, and was a 1961 graduate of Jamestown High School. She was a former bank teller at PNC Bank in Sugar Grove.
Susan was formerly a member of and EMT for the Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Dept., as well as a PADI certified search and recovery diver with the Kinzua Dive Team.
Surviving is a daughter, Deborah (Stuart Miller) Dorsett of Fort Pierce, FL and son, Thomas (Tonya) Whitney of Sugar Grove, PA; six grandchildren: Brodie Whitney of Sugar Grove, PA, Brielle Whitney of Fredonia, PA, Danielle Bradish of Warren, PA, Ericka Rhoden of Tumwater, WA, Zander Miller of Daytona Beach, FL, and Shawna Novak of Palm Bay, FL; and a sister, Anne (Robert) Widrig of Sugar Grove, PA.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19 in the Sunset Hill Cemetery Chapel. Visitation will not be observed.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
