Eleanor Jean Baxter Dahler 101, of Bradenton, Florida passed away peacefully December 9, 2023 at Blake Hospital surrounded by family.
Born in Warren, Pennsylvania February 22, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Eleanora (Erickson) Baxter.
She was a 1941 graduate of Warren Area High School and was employed for many years as manager at Browns Boot Shop and Valone Shoe Stores in Warren. Jean was the middle child of 11 siblings. She is survived by a sister Joyce O’Conner of Warren, PA.
She married Milton C. Dahler August 29, 1970 who passed away January 1, 2023 at the age of 100.
They were the proud parents of her surviving Son James Mullhaupt (Mary) of Bradenton, FL. granddaughter’s Kym Wolcott (Brian) of Bradenton, FL Amy Saporito (Michael) of Warren, PA. grandson Mathew Mapston (May) of Saratoga Springs, Utah., Son David Dahler of Medina, OH, grandchildren Jennifer Pugh (James) and David Dahler Jr (Abbey), both of Waukesha, WI, Kristyn Dahler and Brett Dahler (Raquel), both of Columbus, OH, Dr. Bryan Dahler (Lia) of Arvada, CO; and Son, Mark Dahler (Kathleen) of Rocky River, OH, grandchildren Rachel Medlen (William) of North Olmsted, OH. and Ryan Dahler (Caitlin) of Cleveland, OH, along with 13 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son James Dahler (Mary) of Lakewood, OH . She is also survived by grandchildren Greg Dahler of Lakewood, OH and Lauren Verga (Dale) of San Francisco, CA.
Jean and Milt, married for 53 years, moved from Warren in 1994 to Camelot Lakes, Sarasota FL then to Freedom Village in Bradenton, FL in 2004. Jean and Milt were very popular and had many many friends at Freedom Village. Jean loved to cook and bake. Her son James took her to the store where she shopped with the grocery cart weekly until very recently. She shared her pies, cakes and other goodies with family, friends, and neighbors.
Jean will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her, especially her two closest friends Donna Lane and B. J. Vergason at Freedom Village.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Freedom Village Scholarship Fund at LIFE@FVBradenton.com, a worthy cause that she and Milt supported generously for 20 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
