Robert K. Jordan, 83, passed away peacefully on Sept. 29, 2023 at the home of his daughter, Brenda, in Sherman, New York. He was born on Jan. 13, 1940 in Warren, PA. He was the 17th child of 18 born to Emery and Genevieve Jordan.
Bob was raised in Lottsville, PA and graduated from Youngsville High School in 1958. He served in the United States Army from 1959-1961.
For most of his working life Bob was employed in the automobile industry. In addition to managing the Corry Auto Auction he specialized in wholesaling cars.
Bob enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending quality time with friends and family. Friday and Saturday afternoons were reserved for card games at “The Jordan Camp” with his close-knit group of friends.
Bob was an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular fondness for golf and hunting. Whether he was on the golf course, in the woods, or simply mowing grass he found joy in the great outdoors. Through the years he attended many NASCAR races and thoroughly enjoyed watching family members race at Stateline Speedway and Eriez Speedway.
Football season was a highlight of the year for Bob. He loved cheering on his favorite teams: Penn State and the Cleveland Browns.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge 769, The VFW Post 264, The American Legion Post 365, Corry Lodge 365 Masons and The Shriners and the AMVETS Post 50 in Sugar Grove, PA.
Bob is survived by his wife, Christine; his children: Brenda (Dan) Jordan, and two sons: Brian (Lisa) Jordan, and Daniel “Boomer” (Megan) Donahue; his siblings: Jim Jordan of Bear Lake, Cork Jordan of Lakewood, NY, Sally Frank of Sugar Grove and Lois Inter of Delaware; his grandsons: Aaron (Mary) Milks, Justin (Megan) Jordan and Ricky Pratt; and his granddaughters: Molly (David) Hajec and Olivia Donahue; seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Sample, and his siblings Marge Kibbey, Howard Jordan, Ruth Moniak, Autumn Goldsmith, Joyce Russell, Jean Briggs, Charles Jordan, Richard Jordan, Janet Frank, Lenore Schepper, Lawrence Jordan, Shirley Jordan and Carol Jordan.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Chautauqua County Hospice and Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, NY 14750.
A Celebration of Life will be held at “The Jordan Camp” in Lottsville, PA to honor Bob’s memory and share stories of his life. The family invites friends and family to join them at this special gathering on Oct. 21, 2023 at 1 PM.
