David Nels Carlson

David Nels Carlson, 84, formerly of North Warren, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at his daughter’s home where he has resided for the past 2 1/2 years.

Dave was born August 14, 1939, in Warren, the son of the late Nels and Agnes (Hagstrom) Carlson. He attended Warren High School and enjoyed his class of 1959 luncheons. In his younger days he spent a good amount of time in the town of Kinzua. He was employed as a receiving clerk at Crone’s Drug Store, previously known as Cowdrick’s, from which he retired after 41 years.

Dave was a history buff on Warren and the town of Kinzua. David was known as being kind, gentle, and the sweetest person. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Dave is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Greco and husband Frank, of Jamestown, NY, and Wanda Lewis and husband Scott, of Grand Valley, PA; grandchildren, Crystal DeVault and husband Zach of Sugar Grove, PA, Michael Carlson and wife Jessica of Pittsburgh, PA, and Jeremy Lewis and wife Taryne of Pittsfield, PA; great grandchildren, Conrad Carlson, Grant Carlson, Blake Lewis, Maddyn Lewis, Oaklyn DeVault, Rowyn DeVault; sister, JoAnn Reese of St. Mary’s, PA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death on April 20, 2014, by his wife, Clara I. Swanson Carlson, whom he married on September 12, 1959; a daughter in 1965, Sherry Lynn Carlson; and a brother, Dick Carlson.

Friends may be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna Ave. E., Warren, PA, on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm, and from 10:00am to 11:00 am, on Monday, September 18, 2023, at which time a funeral service will be held with Reverend Rick Hamrick, pastor, Youngsville Free Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Warren.
