Norma Jean Brothers

Norma Jean Brothers, 86, of Route 957, Columbus, PA, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 at her residence.

She was born Oct. 15, 1936 in Titusville, PA, a daughter of the late Carl and Nina (Schreckengost) Bauer.

She graduated from Titusville High School. After high school, she worked for various companies including, Sylvania in Titusville, PA, New Process in Warren, PA and G.C. Murphy’s where she retired from.

Norma was a Girl Scout leader and volunteered for the welcome wagon in Corry. She was in a bowling league and loved vacationing in Canada and Florida with her family and close friends. She enjoyed flowers, animals, puzzles, crafts, playing cards and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd M. Brothers, whom she married on Aug. 25, 1956 in Pleasantville, PA; sister, Darlene Confer and two brothers, Gerald and Thomas Bauer.

Norma is survived by three daughters, JoElla Kearns and her husband Gary of Meadville, PA, Joyce Matija and her husband Tom of Waterford, PA and Julie Slye and her husband Doug Jr. of Columbus, PA; sister, Carol Groner and her husband George of Corry, PA, brother, Donald Bauer and his wife Carol of Youngsville, PA; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to call at Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA 16407 on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 10 am until the time of the service there at 11 am. Pastor Patty Kuna will officiate.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville, PA.
