Calvin LeRoy (Roy) Christensen, 78, of Manchester Center, Vermont, and formerly of Warren, PA. died peacefully in Bennington,VT. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, after a 5 year battle with cancer. He was born in Warren, PA., on February 6, 1945. Roy was the son of Elmer and Hazel Christensen. He had resided in Warren, PA., for 68 years, then moved to Florida and then to Vermont to live with grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1970, where he was honorably discharged into the Army reserves. He was employed with the former New Process Company, until his retirement.
He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. in Vermont.
He is survived by his 2 children – Jaimi Christensen of Winhail, VT., Brandi Yeatman of Enosburg Falls, VT., 1 sister – Susie Pirillo of Warren, PA., 4 Grandchildren – Jamieson and Preston Christensen, Calvin and Helen Yeatman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marti, whom he married in 1970 at Grace Methodist Church, Warren, PA.
A Celebration of Roy’s life is planned at a later date and time to be announced.
