Debra Lee Bines Fontaine
Debra “Debbie” Bines Fontaine, 67, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV.
She was born in Warren, PA on May 17, 1955, to Robert “Bud” Bines and the late Beatrice “Bea” Brown Bines.
Debbie was a Warren Area High School graduate class of 1973 and was later employed by the Plaza Restaurant for several years, where she took great pleasure talking with the customers. She and her husband Roger relocated to West Virginia, where they have since owned and operated Wood County Fence Company.
Giving and kind to a fault, Debbie cared deeply not only for her family and friends, but also for anyone fortunate enough to cross her path in a moment of personal struggle. Those who knew Debbie, even if only briefly, were touched by her enduring warmth and generosity. This includes many dogs and cats, whom she loved with all her heart and more. Debbie was a remarkable horticulturist who designed and cultivated her garden with intricate detail. She enjoyed canning the fruits and vegetables she harvested each year. She was also a gifted baker, whose coveted holiday treats were eagerly anticipated each year by those on her very long annual Christmas delivery list. Debbie took great joy in the simple beauty of nature and the outdoors. In particular, she enjoyed camping, hiking, swimming, and boating. She enjoyed trips to Florida with friends and family where she collected seashells and sea glass. She loved taking long walks along the ocean shore, where she cherished the feeling of sand beneath her bare feet. Debbie attended the Warren Wesleyan Methodist Church for many years.
Surviving in addition to her father Robert “Bud” Bines, is her husband, Roger Fontaine, whom she married in Warren, PA, on October 14, 1989; one daughter, Michele Sanders (Brian Marsh), of Warren, PA, granddaughters Abigail Marsh Spiker (Bobby) of Trinidad, CO; Elizabeth Marsh of Portland, NY, two step-daughters, Jamie Fontaine, grandsons Luca and Griffin, of Baltimore, MD; Erin Fontaine, granddaughter Ava, of Annapolis, MD. Debbie was the eldest of five siblings. She has three brothers, Randy Bines (Linda), of Laurens, SC, Steven Bines of Pahokee, FL, Scott Bines of Warren, PA and one sister, Judy Bines Walker (Jamie) of Hershey, PA. Debbie has several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice “Bea” Bines, her grandparents Melvin and Irene Bines and Ralph and Agnes Brown, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mariette and Jean Pierre Fontaine.
