Thomas Joseph Sulo Jr.

Thomas Joseph Sulo Jr., 94, of Russellville, Arkansas, died Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center in Russellville.

The son of Thomas Joseph Sr., and Evelyn Honhart, he was born April 15, 1928, in Warren, Pennsylvania. He married Lahoma Faye (Brown) Sulo, on May 1, 2007, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Roberta Jean Sulo; two sons: Timothy James Sulo and Theodore Wallace Sulo; a sister, Nannette Mead; and a brother-in-law, Lindy McConnell.

He is survived by his wife, Lahoma Sulo of Russellville; a son, Thomas Edward Sulo (Gail Ann) of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tina Britt, Tracy Sulo, Jamie Sulo, Chance Ray Dougall, Shelley Dougall, and two sisters of Warren, Pennsylvania: Connie Stromdahl (Dennis) and Margaret McConnell; and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Jean Sulo of Phoenix, Arizona.

Thomas enlisted in the United States Navy at the close of World War II, and served his country during the Korean War period. Following his military career, he entered the field of avionics where he specialized in management services with Allegheny Airlines for 25 years. Following, he worked for Honeywell/Sperry for 10 years. His career followed his personal interests as he became an avid aircraft enthusiast collecting art prints and other memorabilia. He was especially proud of his room display of “Snoopy” figurines and collectables which numbered over 500. He was a member of his hometown Methodist church in Russell, Pennsylvania.

The family will return his cremains to Russell, Pennsylvania, where they will be interred in Pine Grove Cemetery. A family-led memorial service will be announced at a later time in Pennsylvania.
