William Redin
William Redin, age 97, of Kennedy Township, formerly of Warren, Pa., passed away on February 3, 2023 at Concordia of Franklin Park, Sewickley, Pa. after a brief illness. He was born July 28,1925 in Dubois, Pa. He was the son of Thomas and Inez Bitters Redin. He was a 1943 graduate of Big Run High School. He then went into the U.S. Army as a sergeant during World War II. After the service, he graduated in 1950 from Penn State University where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education, majoring in mathematics and a minor in science. He was employed as a math teacher at Osceola Mills High School and then moved to Tidioute High School where he taught math working up to being Principal. While there he also coached Varsity baseball and Jr. High basketball. In 1953, he earned his Master’s Degree in Education Administration. He accepted a position at Eisenhower High School teaching and then became the Science Coordinator for the Warren County School District, retiring in 1985. He was an associate professor at Clarion State College for 4 years. Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he served as an usher. He was a life member of Penn State University Alumni Association, life member of NEA, PSAR, member of the Warren American Legion, National Rifle Association, Warren Lions Club, Warren Eagles, Kalbfus Rod and Gun Club. Bill served as Past Master of Joseph Warren Masonic Lodge 726, Past High Priest of Occidental Royal Arch Chapter 235, Past Commander of the Warren Commandry 63, a life member of Coudersport Consistory, and member of Warren County Conservation District.
After Retiring, Bill worked with the office of Personal Management administering tests for the National Guard Recruiting team. In additional to his Parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Alice Conklin Redin, a brother Thomas, and a sister Marian Mohney. Bill is survived by two nieces and several cousins.
Friends may call at the Musmanno Funeral Home, 941 McCoy Road, Kennedy Township Pa. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 1 to 4. Masonic services will be held at 3pm and the Funeral service will be held at 3:30pm. Interment will be at 12:00 pm on Thursday in the Oakland Cemetery, Warren, Pa.
