Jeral L. “Jerry” Angove

Jeral L. “Jerry” Angove, 82, of Jamestown, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa.

He was born on June 13, 1940 in Warren, Pa, a son of the late Jeral L. and Mildred Lindsey Angove.

Jerry graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1958 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Clarion University.

He was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes football team and served in the US Air Force. After being discharged he moved to Colorado where he worked in industrial maintenance until moving back to Jamestown in 1992 where he operated a dairy farm and eventually raised beef cattle.

Jerry attended Kiantone Congregational Church and was a member of the Beef Producers Association. He loved his cattle and was still taking care of and feeding them till a few days ago. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, collecting coins and loved all sports. He had many friends in the Amish community.

He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Joan E. Spontaneo; a son Timothy (Jenn) Angove of Milliken, CO; two daughters Tammy (Jim) Harris of Gypsum, CO and Tanya (Jeff) Ferguson of Craig, CO; six grandchildren: Colton, Korrie, Avden, Macee, Garrett, Sidney; three great grandchildren; three brothers: Bill Angove of Troy, Pa, Doug Angove of Warren, Pa, Jack Angove of Akeley, Pa; several nieces and nephew; and the mother of his children Linda Angove of Berthoud, CO.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced by the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.
