Joseph K. “Jay” Krimmel

Joseph K. “Jay” Krimmel, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jay, on January 18, 2023, in Myrtle Beach S.C. where he lived for several years.

Jay was the son of the late Joseph “Joe” and Irene W. Scythes Krimmel. He was born on October 31, 1942, in Washington, Pa. He was a 1959 graduate of Warren Area High School.

Jay had perfect pitch and could sing like an angel. While in Jr. high school he was in America Singing Boys Choir under the direction of Bryon Swanson. In high school he was in A cappella choir and Madrigal. While in the boys’ choir he went to Florida and New York City and sang at Carnegie Hall. After high school he went to Penn State and got a degree in Art. While in college, Jay sang with the Penn State Chapel choir and traveled all over Europe with them. He was a Penn State alumnus and was a “We are Penn State”. After collage his first teaching job was at the high school in Truman N.Y. He then moved to New Jersey and taught at Forked River North until his retirement.

Jay in survived by his children, Jared and wife Tracy of Lawrenceville, N.J., Jayson of Allentown, PA., Clifford and wife Jill of Croton-on Hudson, N.Y., and Chloe of N.J.; a sister Sally Hunter and her husband Dave of Warren, PA.; Four grandchildren, Julia, and Liam Krimmel, of Lawrenceville, N.J., Nash and Amelia Krimmel of Croton on Hudson, N.Y.; and three nieces all of Warren. A good and best friend, Morrie, and Caroline Kintner; and companion K Cruickshank all of Warren.

A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
