Shirley E. Olson

She was born at home on June 1, 1940, in Russell, Pa., a daughter of the late Virgil and Irene Carlstrom Williams.

Shirley was a 1958 graduate of Eisenhower High School.

For many years, she was a member of Wiltsie Community Church, where she served as a ladies aide.

On the family property she had many apple trees and grew many other fruit and vegetables. She would pick, sort, and take what she grew to a local fruit stand.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, golfing with friends, and making rugs using a loom, which she was still doing a few weeks ago.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Sherwood B. Olson; a son, Mark Olson of Sugar Grove; a daughter, Terrie Olson of Russell; a brother, Kenneth (Sue) Williams of Warren; a sister, Emma (Dale) Munson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Barry J. Olson on Dec. 7, 2020; and a sister, Jackie Williams.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Hale Cemetery, Akeley, Pa.
