Lanna C. Baran, 78, of Sugar Grove went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday (Nov. 20, 2022) in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 26, 1944 in Erie, Pa., the daughter of the late Robert W. Eccles Sr. and Mary Devereaux Eccles.
Lanna was a graduate of Eisenhauer High School and Warren Nursing Program. In earlier years Lanna was employed by the Rouse Home and Fenton Park. Prior to retirement she had owned and operated a Dairy Farm in Clymer.
She was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Sugar Grove and was involved with several church ministries. She volunteered for the Food Bank of Warren and Sugar Grove, and The Salvation Army. Lanna enjoyed spending time with her family and pets, reading, wordsearches, gardening and plants. She enjoyed planting bulbs in her garden and seeing what would transpire.
Surviving is her husband Vincent L. Baran I whom she married Aug. 13, 1960 in Busti; four children: Mary (Chris) Dorman of Cassadaga, Mark Baran of Sugar Grove, David Baran of Jamestown, Adam Baran of Sugar Grove, Pa.; a daughter-in-law Barbara Doty of Falconer; eight grandchildren: Vincent L. Baran III, Richard Scott Baran, Adrianne Baran, Elizabeth Baran, Kirsten Baran, Thomas Baran, Kendra Dorman, Jared Dorman; a granddaughter-in-law Dara Brown; five great-grandchildren: McKenzie Baran, Ethan Brown, Joslyn Brown, Keira Brown, Bennett Brown; a brother Brian (Laurie) Eccles; three sisters: Sandra Bush of Jamestown, Diana (Randy) Ordines of Jamestown, Tina (Pete) Peterson of Falconer; her step mother Beatrice Eccles of Falconer; two step brothers: Richard (Marcia) Taylor, Barry (Marlene) Taylor.
She was preceded in death by a son Vincent L. “Vick” Baran II; her father Robert Eccles Sr., mother Mary Devereaux; a grandson Jason Brown, her brother Robert Eccles Jr.
The funeral will be at 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2022 in the Free Methodist Church in Sugar Grove (210 Jamestown St., Sugar Gove, Pa.). Rev. Billy Hughes will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Wesleyan Cemetery.
Friends will be received by the family from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday in the church.
Memorial contributions may be donated to the Free Methodist Church in Sugar Grove, American Arthritis Society, American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
