John J. Hackman

John J. Hackman, 73, of Pittsfield, PA., passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at Warren General Hospital.

He was born on November 11, 1948 to the late Tom and Mary Flow Hackman. An avid outdoorsman, John would spend countless hours hunting, fishing, or just spending time on his four-wheeler riding the hillsides on his farm. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and was a member of the “Long Beard Club” at Hueys. John’s gardens were outstanding, especially his heritage garlic that has been passed down through the generations from Ukraine and is still growing strong in Pittsfield. John was also known for his sharp wit and sense of humor, he was a straight shooter and would always call a spade a spade. Aside from his love of the outdoors, he loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife, Dianna, with whom he just celebrated their 30th anniversary, and his 3 children; daughter Lori (Eric) McChesney and their children Cade and Adam McChesney; son Jon Hackman and his companion Molly Heubach and their children Fawne, Autumn, Allison, and Sage Hackman and Aiden Heubach; daughter Julie (Mike) Eastman and their children Blake, Jayda and Chase Myers; his sister Mary “June” Catalfu; and step-grandson Robert Hazelett .

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother Tom Hackman.
