Thomas A. “Tom” Henrikson

Thomas A. “Tom” Henrikson, 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and Christian friend to many, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, Sept. 26, 2022.

He was born on Aug. 29, 1933, in Warren County, Pa., son of the late John and Irene (Chambers) Henrikson.

On Sept. 27, 1997, Tom married Irene D. (Delasko) Henrikson. This year they would have celebrated 25 years of wedded bliss.

Along with his wife Irene, Tom is survived by three daughters: Mary Phillips and husband, Melvin, Schellsburg, Jennifer Tielmann and husband, Phil, Tatamy, Pennsylvania, and Karen Holland and husband, Dan, Richmond, Va.; 14 grandchildren: Joshua, Jessica, Melissa, Anna, Zack, Sarah, Emily, Leah, Noah, Elijah, Benjamin, Jordan, Matthew and Michael; nine great- grandchildretn: two sisters: Dory Jamison, Warren, Pa., and Greta Britt, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Morrison) Henrikson; and sister, Joyce Foreman.

Tom was an independent truck driver and drove for 39 years for Malone Trucking and George Transfer. At one time along with his friend, Tom owned and operated American Hardware in downtown Bedford, but his career of trucking is what he enjoyed most. He was awarded a three million safe mile trucking plaque during his 39 years of driving.

Mr. Henrikson proudly served four years in the Navy and enlisted at the age of 17.

Tom loved the Lord and was a strong man in his faith. He was a member of Faith Brethren Bible Church, where he enjoyed being involved and sharing the love of the Lord.

He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and woodworking.

Tom was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, from 3-8 p.m., at Faith Brethren Bible Church, New Paris, and Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, from 10-11a.m. with a funeral service following with Pastor James Espenshade officiating.

Interment will be at Schellsburg Cemetery.

Military rites accorded by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
