Thomas E. Africa

Thomas E. Africa, 80, of Warren, Pa., and New Smyrna Beach, Fla., died peacefully at home on Aug. 8, 2022.

He was born in 1942, and graduated from Warren High School in 1960. In 1964, after graduating from Denison University, he returned to Warren where he worked at Blair and served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. In 1968 he attended Case Western Reserve Law School and had an active law practice in Warren for over 30 years. He was the great-grandson of Thomas L. Kane, founder of Kane, Pa., and had a lifelong appreciation of both areas.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, W. Beyer Africa and Virginia Kane Africa; and nephew Matthew K. Africa.

Tom is survived by his wife, Gerry L. Africa, whom he married in 1970; one brother, Dr. Bruce Africa; and niece, Julia Kane Africa.

A toast to Tom’s life will be held Saturday, Sept.r 17, in Warren, Pa., and again in New Smyrna Beach at a later date.
