Stephen Douglass “Doug” Glass

He was born in Lansing, Mich on Nov. 10, 1948, to Shurl and Geneva (Riggs) Glass.

Doug was a graduate of Warren (PA) Area High School, served in the U.S. Navy for two years and received his B.A. in sociology from Edinboro University. He was employed as a claims representative for 32 years at the Social Security Administration.

Doug was an avid handball player and had been a member of the Buhl Club in Sharon since 1980. He also enjoyed playing tennis, running, hiking, bicycling, sailing and traveling. Doug had served as a Fredonia Little League Coachand GAYSA Soccer Coach. In addition, he refereed GASA and FIFAsoccer leagues. On June 29, 1974, he married the former Cindy M. Schwab, she survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Julie A. Glass of Erie; his son, Robert J. Glass and his wife, Maria of Managua, Nicaragua. his sister, Lyn R. McDaniel of Russell, Pa.; and his two grandchildren: Gwen and Sidney.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday Aug. 19, 2022, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Friday Aug. 19, 2022, from 1 p.m. until time of service.
