Nicholas Earl Shaffer

Nicholas was born on Nov. 28, 1937, in Sprinkle Mills, Pa., the son of the late Harry Shaffer and Maude Milliron Shaffer.

He worked at GTE Sylvania in the metal and wire plant for 35 years from which he retired.

He attended the St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. Nicholas enjoyed square dancing, and spending time with his family and grandkids.

Earl is survived by his children: Shirley Walker and husband, Richard of Russell, Pa,, and Michelle Blum and husband, Royce of Ludlow, Pa.; brother, George Shaffer and wife, Dorothy; grandchildren Heather and Joshua Walker, and Jamie Blum; and four great grandchildren: Drew, Brayden, Jozilyn, and Seth; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Earl is preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor R. Powell Shaffer who passed in 1998, and his second wife, Mary Young Shaffer who passed in 2020; son, Ronald Earl Shaffer who passed in 1984; and siblings: Geraldine, Sally Ann, William, Harry, and Samuel.

Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna Ave. E. Warren, Pa., on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 10to 11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held with The Rev. Larry Scofield, officiating.
