On Thursday, July 14, 2022, Carol Marie Martel (Freeborough) passed away at the age of 85. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Martel; her sister, Anita Samuelson; her parents, Lysle and Marian;, and granddaughter, Jacqueline. She is survived by her three children: Julie, Alan, and Kirstin; as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Carol had a passion for knowledge which inspired her to teach. She obtained her PhD in History from ASU at age 50, and inspired hundreds of minds at both Arizona State University and later at Mesa Community College.
The family will host a small memorial at the residence on Oct. 27, 2022 from 5 to 8 p.m.
