Edwin “Ed” L. Darling
Edwin “Ed” L. Darling, 91, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., formerly of Youngsville, Pa., passed away on Thursday morning, March 17, 2022, at his home with his daughter.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1930, in Youngsville, a son to the late Clyde and Frances (Flasher) Darling.
He worked at the National Forge as a crane operator for 40 years, retiring in 1991. Ed also operated an oil lease many years ago.
He enjoyed wood working, being outdoors, feeding and watching the birds, but most of all he loved to cut the grass and just monkey around. He was a loving and caring father and will be missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcelle Wood of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his daughter-in-law, Durinda Darling.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Hoffman) Darling; and his son, E. Robert Darling.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21 at the Nelson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 314 N. Main St., Youngsville, PA 16371, from 11-noon at which time a graveside service will follow at Warren County Memorial Park, 20050 US-6 Warren, PA 16365.
