Claire Belleau

She was born Jan. 21, 1931, in Salem, Mass. She was the daughter of Alexandre and Arthemise Roi Dion.

Claire was a Warren area resident, since 1957. She was a 1949 graduate of St. Chretienne Academy, of Salem, Mass., which was much more than a school to her.

She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. She was an active volunteer with Warren General Hospital, Warren State Hospital, and Meals on Wheels Agency.

Claire enjoyed traveling, boating, and attending the theatre. She especially loved time spent for Christmas Dinner and Easter Brunches. Her greatest joys in life, were spending time and companionship with friends, family and especially her grandchildren.

Claire is survived by her two sons: John R. Belleau and wife, Cheryl and Glenn M. Belleau and wife, Mary, all of Warren, Pa.: eight grandchildren: Michelle Belleau Peterson, Victoria Thibodeaux, Natalie Cull, Eleanor Lowry, Lucienne Belleau, Timothy Belleau, Emily Belleau, E. Belleau; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Belleau, whom she married May 26, 1951, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Salem, Mass., and who died May 5, 2013; three brothers: Alexander Dion Jr., Lionel Dion and Victor Dion; and two sisters: Lucienne Tremblay and Jeannine Loranger.

Friends may call at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 600 Pennsylvania Ave. West, Warren, Pa.., on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, from 10- 11 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with Father Richard Tomasone, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery.
