Sandra Lee Crawford Troxell

Sandra Lee Crawford Troxell, age 67, of Harlansburg Road, New Castle, Pennsylvania, died Saturday January 8, 2022 at the Haven Convalescent Home after a long battle with cancer. Born August 4, 1954, she was the daughter of Laura Conway Crawford and the late Ernest M. Crawford Jr.

A 1972 graduate of VoTech, Sandy was very involved with the Rainbow Girls with her lifelong friend, Joyce Jones. Sandy achieved the title of Worthy Advisor as a youth and went on to be Worthy Matron as an adult.

Sandy was the owner, chief cook and bottle washer of the Coffee Grinder for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family at her family camp on the Slippery Rock Creek, hunting, fishing and enjoying nature. She still claims that she was a better shot than both of her brothers. A lover of animals, Sandy raised and adopted many dogs, cats, goats and chickens. Sandy worked for her father at the District Courthouse for many years before moving to various offices at the Courthouse, retiring from her last position as the Assistant Court Administrator in 2019.

Sandy was the proud mother of two children, Daniel E. Troxell III (Tina) and Jennifer Lynn Troxell, both of New Castle. Besides her mother, she is also survived by four grandchil-dren, Ashley Troxell, Lucian Troxell, Michael Scarberry, and Nathaniel Scarberry all of New Castle, two brothers, Matthew E. Crawford of Conneaut, Ohio and Ernest M. Craw-ford III (Barbara) of Russell, Pennsylvania. Many nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. Sandy was preceded in death by her father and beloved sister, Patricia Ann Crawford.

Per Sandys’ wishes, no visitation or services will be held. Burial will be at a later date in a private ceremony.
