Rose Ann Hennessy
Rose Ann “Rosie” Sorensen Hennessy, 85, a resident of Cambridge War-ren, Warren, Pa.,. formerly of Russell, Pa., died Satur-day afternoon, Sept. 18, 2021, at her residence, after a long battle with dementia.
She was born March 5, 1936, in Warren, Pa. Rose Ann was the daughter of Henry and Rosella M. Anderson Sorensen.
She was a 1955 graduate of Warren High School. She had been a lifelong ac-tive member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Rose endured retinitis pigmentosa (loss of her sight), she was a strong-willed lady who raised her family with love and encouragement.
She enjoyed gardening, loved being a homemaker, wife and mother. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
After her husband, Bus, retired, they enjoyed motor-cycle riding, traveling, camping. Hot dogs and burnt marshmallows were amongst her favorite foods.
Rose Ann is survived by her two children: Joseph H. Hennessy and his wife, Eth-el of Clarendon, Pa., and Eileen Swanson and hus-band, Randy of Warren, Pa.; four aisters: Emily Tuller of Russell, Pa., Gla-dys Still, Joan Phelps and husband, Stanley, Julia Mahan and husband, Robert, all of Warren, Pa.; two brothers: Curtis Soren-sen of Butler, Pa., and Dennis C. Sorensen and wife, Dawn of Warren, Pa.; six grandchildren: Erin Su-dul, Sarah Hoehn, the Rev. Matt Slater, John C. Hennessy-ReCar, Lisa Ris-tau and Amy Swanson; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Bus” Hennessy, whom she married on Sept. 22, 1956, in Warren, Pa., and who died July 6, 2014; one brother, Leroy H. Sorensen.
Friends may call at the First Church of the Na-zarene, 907 Pennsylvania Ave. East, Warren, Pa., on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, from 10-11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., with her grandson, the Rev. Matt Slater, officiating. Inter-ment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Warren, Pa.
