Isabel Ruth Beardsley
Isabel Ruth Beardsley, 92, died of covid complications in Sylacauga Ala.
She had been a resident at SH&R nursing home where she was respected and well liked by all she came into contact with.
Not only was Isabel born and raised in Warren, but raised her children there as well.
Isabel was preceded in death in 1965 by her husband, Alvin Harry Reid; her mother, Gladys Leona Bundy Johnson; her father, Mendle Burton Johnson; three brothers: Merton Wilbur, Lester Mendle and Harry Richard Johnson; three sisters: Nellie Vera Franklin, Marion Leona Tudor and Lois Virginia Presher; two daughters: Diane Lenore Matie and Sharon May Ryan; two grandsons: Peter David Dunham and Ricky Emery Glover.
Surviving are her children: aughters: Gladys Ann Nelson and husband, Steven of Warren, Pa., Pamela Sue Dufresne and husband, James of Silver Springs Nev., and Debora Lynn Gallagher and husband, James of Childersburg AIa.; one son, Milton Mendle Reid and wife, Susan of Elkhart, Ind.; and one stepson, Robert Murray Gibbs and wife, Karen of Meadville, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; seven plus great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Isabel worked in several factories in Warren and home healthcare as well. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and also attended the First Presbyterian Church and the Salvation Army. She sat with the War Cry Magazines, and rang the bells with the Christmas kettles. She attended four years at the Nazarene Bible College where she earned her diploma in lay minis-tries in May of 1986. After graduation, she went on to preach the gospel at several churches in the Warren area.
Some of her favorite things to do were walking, talking, singing, playing games, putting together floral arrangements and taking them to nursing homes and hospitals, feeding the homeless, and sharing anything she had with those less fortunate. traveling and sight seeing, but her most favorite thing to do was spend time with her family and friends.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, from 10-11 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at McKinney Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Inc., 54 W. Main St., Youngsville, PA 16371. Burial will be private and will be in Willowdale Cemetery in Bradford, Pa.
